(Midge) Lewis, 88,of Rome, died March 14, 2007, in Rome Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was born October 25, 1918, in Utica, the daughter of George and Kathleen Reusswig Kerber. She attended St. Aloysius Academy. On February 4, 1939, she married Glenard Drake. He died April 2, 1960. Later, on April 21, 1962, she married Robert Lewis. He died December 19, 1999. Midge's family would like to thank the staff on Wing 3 at Rome Nursing home for the wonderful care that was given to their mother during her stay there. Midge is survived by six daughters and two sons-in-law, Hazel Loften, DeRider, LA, Helen Conover, Rome, Geraldine and Joseph Fragetta, Rome, Janice and Earl Murphy, Lee Center, Carol Mothershed, Winter Haven, FL, and Winifred Chriss, Holly Springs, NC; six sons and two daughters-in-law, Glenard Drake, Rome, Alfred Drake, Sanford, FL, Earl Drake, Rome, Joseph and Christine Drake, Holly Springs, NC, Philip and Son Drake, El Paso, TX, and Robert T. Lewis, Rome; a sister, Kathleen Thomas, Floyd; a brother, William Kerber, Rome; forty-two grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Kenneth, George, Arthur, and Francis, and a sister, Virginia Seaton. Services: Funeral services will take place on Monday at 12pm at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Rome Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8pm.
