Sczerbaniewicz, 91, of Rome, died March 4, 2006 in Bethany Gardens after a long illness. He was born March 12, 1914 in Herkimer the son of Joseph and Anna Szosda Sczerbaniewicz. He was educated in Herkimer schools. On June 3, 1939 he married Frances Peplinski in St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs. Michael worked at Standard Desk Company in Herkimer and after moving to Rome in the late 1960s, he worked at Rome Memorial Hospital for several years, retiring in 1980. He was member of Transfiguration Church. Mike's greatest joy in his later years was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife, are one daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Anthony Albrecht, Rome; his beloved grandson Anthony and his wife Susan Albrecht; and four cherished great grandchildren, Ashley, Cheyenne, Patrick and Alexandra. He was predeceased by two sons, Michael and John; two brothers, John and Anthony; four sisters, Nellie Sczerbaniewicz, Jenny Maksymo, Mary Pyc, and Stella Weigand; and a granddaughter, Laurie Albrecht Hawkins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, at 9:30am and Transfiguration Church at 10am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Richfield Springs. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7pm. Contributions in Michael's memory maybe made to the Transfiguration Church Memorial Fund.
