Peterson, 78, of Harding Blvd., Rome, died Wednesday April 27, 2005, in Rome Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born August 23, 1926, in Clockville, NY, the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Shaw Cordell. She was a graduate of Oneida High School. On August 26, 1946, she married Angelo W. Peterson in Rome. He died September 22, 1994. Edna worked at Griffiss Air Force Base for 21 years, retiring in 1986 as a Ward Clerk at the Griffiss Air Force Base Hospital.. She had previously worked at the Oneida Casket Factory. Edna was a member of St. Peter's Church. Mrs. Peterson is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, James (Jim) and Patricia, Rome, and Pete C., Durhamville; seven grandchildren, Valerie, Mitzi, Renee', Jimmy, Julie, Arcadia, and Angelo II; six great-grandchildren, Sierra, Alexander, Broderick, Jack, Jerome, and Zachary; and her two cats, Blackie and Shadow. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Cordell. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at St. Peter's Church at 12pm. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Contributions in Edna's memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Spring Farm Cares, or St. Peter's Church Memorial Fund.
