Name: Leona V. Mills Date of Death: Sunday, February 26, 2006 Residence: Oswego NY Age: 80 Obituary:Leona (Lee) V. Mills, 80, formerly of Rome, died February 26, 2006 at Oswego Hospital, Oswego. She was born May 4, 1925, in Rome, a daughter of Peter and Victoria Klara Pryzbyc. She attended Rome schools. On August 31, 1946, she married Robert A. Peterson. He died in 1963. On June 4, 1966, Lee married Ralph A. Mills. He died in 1978, in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Mrs. Mills worked at Griffiss Air Force Base for over twenty years. She was a member of St. Peter's Church, the Moose and Elks Clubs Ladies Auxiliaries, and the GALS Club. Lee loved to dance, travel, cook and spend time with family and friends. Surviving are one daughter, Alissa and Douglas Gehan, Oswego; three grandchildren, Loralee and Scott McMahon, Alexandria, VA, Zachary Gehan and Mark Gehan, both of Oswego; six nieces, Joan Cecconi, Monica Maier, Shirley Maier, Patricia and Bob Denton, Lorraine Florczyk and Donna Smith; and five nephews, Peter and Becky Florczyk, Joseph Maier, John and Roberta Florczyk, Robert Schneible and Anthony Pryzbyc. Lee was predeceased by four sisters, Helen Gonsofski, Katherine Maier, Stephanie Florczyk, and Annette Schneible; one brother, Frederick Pryzbyc; two nieces, Janet Homfeld and Valerie Headrick; and three nephews, George and John Maier, and Michael Florczyk. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St. Thursday at 10am and St. Peter's Church at 10:30am. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
