Name: Julia K. Mondrick Date of Death: Thursday, May 15, 2008 Residence: West Branch, NY Age: 83 Obituary:Julia K. Mondrick, 83, of West Branch, NY, died peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at her daughter's home in Barneveld surrounded by the love and support of her daughter and "son"-in-law. She was born on October 31, 1924, in Ludlow, PA, the daughter of Katherine and Michael Kulka. On September 15, 1945, she was united in marriage with Michael Mondrick and was married a loving forty-three years until she lost her loving and devoted partner on January 9, 1989. Julia was a loving mother and a true friend. She was devoted to her family and always put their needs ahead of her own. Her love and support of her family was her passion in life. Her home was the central gathering place of all loved ones. Julia loved gardening, being especially proud of her dinner plate Dahlia's, foxgloves, and lupins, or just being outdoors riding around on her lawnmower. Her needs were simple, but she was rich with wisdom. She is survived by her only daughter, Linda, and "son"-in-law, Jim, of Barneveld; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jennie DeFucci, of Meadville, PA, Martha Devlin, of Baton Rouge, LA, and Irene and Jack Haser, of Sheffield, PA; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Nicholas King, of Clearwater, FL, Michael and Martha Kulka, Kane, PA, and Basil and Trudy Kulka, Sheffield, PA, a sister-in-law, Mary Chudyk, of Lee Center, whom over the years was more like a sister to her; a brother-in-law, John Gymburch, of West Branch, NY; four very special nieces, Anne and Mike Schramp, Karen and John Gymburch, Marilyn and Joe Rollo, and Cindy Mondrick, all of Lee Center, who always took time out of their busy schedules to visit with her—which meant so very much to her; four special grand nieces, JoAnna and Abby Gymburch, and Amanda and Samantha Schramp who she watched grow up over the years into beautiful young ladies who she was very proud of. Julia is also survived by a canine companion "Garcey" whom she loved so dearly; a very special neighbor, Dale McLean, whom came running across the street whenever a crisis, big or small, arrived; and many more nieces and nephews, who all have a special place in their hearts for her. She was predeceased by a son, James; four sisters, Olga, Kaye, Mary, and Nellie; two brothers, Metro and John; and a grand nephew, Jonathan Schramp. The family is very grateful and appreciative of the comfort and support provided by Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.; especially, Melissa and Shelia. Also to Bonnie Donahue for the excellent care and friendship she gave during her illness. Our heartfelt thanks to Marilyn and Joe Rollo and Bonnie and Roger Viton for their unconditional love and support to us. Without their help and guidance we could not have gotten through this difficult time. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N.
