Golden, 88, formerly of Verona, died February 24, 2006 at the Martin Luther Nursing Home, Clinton, after a long illness. Mr. Golden was born May 11, 1917 in Rome, a son of Exit and Elizabeth Rapke Golden. He was educated in Rome schools. Paul worked for Revere Copper & Brass for over forty years, retiring in 1976. During World War II, he served with the US Army in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rome. Paul is survived by a special friend of over forty years, Rosemary Ann Scaccia and her two sons, James Scaccia, Vernon and Anthony Vaccaro, California; a sister-in-law, Lillian Golden, Rome; four nieces, Mable Converse, Linda Lacell, June Hughes, and Licia Seifert; one nephew, Arthur Golden, Jr.; and several great-nieces, and great nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Earl and Arthur. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Monday at 3:30pm. Interment Rome Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 1:30pm. To 3:30pm Contributions in Paul's memory may be made to the Rome Humane Society.
