"Bernie" Burgey, 70, of 8450 Teelin Rd., Blossvale, died July 5, 2006 at Rome Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born March 14, 1936 in Minera, NY the son of Richard and Alice Terry Burgey. Bernie was educated in Whitesboro and Camden Schools and on May 5, 1957 he was united in marriage to Theresa Donlon in St. John's Church, Camden. Bernie was last employed at Camden Wire retiring in 1982 and was a member of St. John's Church in Camden. Surviving besides his wife, Theresa, are two daughters, Theresa and Scott Schekman, Rustbarg, VA, Traci and Joseph Grinnell, Camden, five sisters and one brother-in-law, Edith Bartkoviawk, Marcy, Veronica Flagg, Waterloo, Mary Fitch, Sheila Reed, Esther and Jack Britton, all of Camden, two brothers Russell Burgey, Marcy, James Burgey, Camden, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by two brothers George and Dick Burgey. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 10 am from St. John's Cemetery, Camden. There are no calling hours.
