Name: Jeannette C. Palermo Date of Death: Saturday, January 14, 2006 Residence: Rome NY Age: 86 Obituary:Jeannette C. Palermo, 86, formerly of Urbandale Apartments, Rome, died Saturday, January 14, 2006 in Bethany Gardens after a brief illness. She was born June 8, 1919 in Union City, New Jersey the daughter of Louis and Theodora Manfredo Cella. Mrs. Palermo was a graduate of Jersey City High School. On December 21, 1941 she married Patrick Palermo in Union City. He died September 29, 1987. Jeannette had resided in Watertown, New York from 1942 until moving to Rome in 1997. While in Watertown she was employed at Robinson's in the Arcade until her retirement in 1981 and previously was employed in New York for Mrs. Beckwith Havens Buying Office. She was a member of St. Paul's Church, the Columbiettes of the Knights of Columbus, Council 391 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Henry P. Smith Post. While in Watertown she was a member of the St. Patrick's Church, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and also was a member and past president of the of the Mothers Club of the Holy Family School and of the Lioness International. Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Jeannette Palermo White, Raleigh, North Carolina, Mary Palermo and her spouse, John Carroll, Boston, Massachusetts; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Patrick and Jeanne Palermo, Jr., Dayton, Ohio; Francis and Dorene Palermo, Durham, North Carolina; Joseph and Kathleen (Katy) Palermo, Rome; Robert Palermo and his companion, Thomas Lynch, Seattle, Washington; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome Wednesday 11:15A.M. and St. Paul's Church 12:00P.M. Interment Glenwood Cemetery, Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. Tuesday. Contributions may be made in Jeannette's memory to Hospice Care, Inc. of Jefferson County, Watertown or Hospice and Palliative Care, New Hartford.
