Sledziona, 60, of Rome, died April 22, 2006, in Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born August 4, 1945 in Seneca Falls, the daughter of Leon and Helen Greene Brown. She was educated in Rome schools. On June 18, 1977 she married Joseph "Joey" Sledziona, Jr. in Rome. Karen worked for P & C Grocery for over twenty years. She previously worked at Big Daddy's Submarine Shop. Surviving besides her husband are one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Gina Owens, Utica; a brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Louise Brown, Rome; two grandsons, Timothy and Zachary, who were the light of her life; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Mary Sledziona, Jerry and Kathy Sledziona, Linda Sledziona, and Sally and Paul Bowers; and several nieces , nephews, and cousins. Private graveside services will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Tuesday from 4-7pm. Contributions in Karen's memory may be made to the American Lung Association. Services: Calling hours Tuesday 4-7pm Graveside services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
