Kotary, 66, of Rome, died Sunday March 26, 2006 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born April 7, 1939, in Brooklyn the daughter of Charles E. and Elizabeth M. Roche Quinn. She was a graduate of Tupper Lake High School. On January 6, 1963, she married Edward (Ezz) Kotary in St. Paul's Church in Rome. Barbara worked at Rome Memorial Hospital, Victory Market, Oneida County Nursing Home and the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center, retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. Leo's Church in Holland Patent. Mrs. Kotary's family would like to express a special thanks to the entire staff at St. Luke's Hospital and the Floyd Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad for the care and compassion shown to Barbara during her illness. Surviving besides her husband, are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Edward C., Rome, Timothy and Judy, Floyd, and Richard and Shannon Kotary, Rome; sister, Geraldine Quinn, Lee Center; five grandchildren, Amber, Timothy, Aubree, Cassidy, and Xavier; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Quinn. Family and friends are invited to a gathering on Saturday April 1, at the Floyd Volunteer Fire Department from 2-4pm. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to the Floyd Volunteer Fire Department.
