Name: Mary T. Decker Date of Death: Wednesday, December 28, 2005 Residence: Rome NY Age: 86 Obituary:Mary T. Decker, 86 of 7980 Inwood Drive. Rome, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at her residence as a result of injuries in a fire. She was born May 22, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of Nicholas and Anastazia Fredczyszyn Tchir. Mrs. Decker was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On October 25, 1947 she married Robert H. Kenny in Rome. He died February 1, 1976. She later married Louis Decker on May 17, 1986 in Rome. He died January 20, 1995. Mary was employed at Revere Copper and Brass for thirty-eight years retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Paul's Church and was very active in the parish. Mary also served as a Eucharistic Minister. Mrs. Decker was a member and President of the Balsam Twig, she was also a member of the Wednesday Morning Club, the Monday P.M. Pinochle Group, South Rome Senior Center Pinochle Group and Westernville Pinochle Group. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Maureen LaCourse, Newport News, Virginia; nephews, Timothy Money, and Dennis Money, both of Canandaigua; James Kenny, Rome and two stepsons David Decker, Ellington, Connecticut and James Decker, Tolland, Connecticut. She was predeceased by a brother, Jacob (Jack) Tchir; he died February 1, 1990. A mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Church Monday 11:00A.M. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
