"Joe" Kapinos, 57, of 107 Parkside Colony Drive, Tarpon Springs, Florida, formerly of Rome, died Wednesday November 23, 2005 in Helen Ellis Hospital, Tarpon Springs. He was born March 18, 1948 in Rome the son of Walter and Helene Luberda Kapinos. Joe was a graduate from Oriskany Central High School and SUNY at Cortland where he received his Bachelor's Degree . He was a Piano, Organ and Keyboard entertainer for twenty-five years and also taught music while in Rome. Joe was a member of St. Ignatius of Antiochs Catholic Church, Tarpon Springs, Knights of Columbus Fr. Farrell Council 647, Holiday, Florida. While in Rome he was a member of All Saints Polish National Catholic Church. Surviving are his mother, Jane Lekki Kapinos, Rome, who raised him after his mother's death 1949; one son and daughter-in-law, Kristopher and Anzhela Kapinos, New York City; his special companion, Gail R. Branovan, Tarpon Springs; one sister and brother-in-law, Lynda and Leo Smith, Rome; one brother, James Kapinos, Key West, Florida; one grandson, Asher Joseph Kapinos, New York City; and three nieces, Lindsay, Shannon and Erin. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome on Wednesday at 1:00pm and All Saints Polish National Catholic Church at 1:30pm. Prayer services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:15pm. Interment All Saints Polish National Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday.
