Bailey, 83, of 6359 Anderegg Drive, Rome, died Thursday, November 24, 2005 at Bethany Gardens after a long illness. She was born March 22, 1922 in Kent, Ohio the daughter of Reed and Edna Parry Pitzer. Mrs. Bailey was a graduate of New Castle, Pennsylvania schools. On October 3, 1946 she married James T. Bailey in New Castle. He died December 2, 1998. Ruth was a member of the Delta United Methodist Church and served as its Director of Communications for several years. She was also a member of the Spruce Twig. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Bill Brogdon, Dumfries, Virginia; one son, Bruce Bailey and Anita Ricci, Sioux Falls, S. Dakota; one sister and brother-in-law, Jean and James Alexander, Lexington, South Carolina, four grandchildren, Claire and her spouse, Michael Dimaiuta, Herndon, Virginia; Andrew Brogdon, Tallahassee, Florida; Erin Bailey, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Christopher Bailey, Ft. Riley, Kansas; and one great-granddaughter, Anna Dimaiuta, Herndon, Virginia. Memorial Services will be held at the Delta United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 11am. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome, on Monday from 4-7pm.
