Name: Joseph P. Utter Date of Death: Sunday, December 25, 2005 Residence: Rome NY Age: 84 Obituary: Joseph P. (Joe) Utter, 84, of Rome, died December 25, 2005 in Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born July 17, 1921, in Oneida Castle, the son of Fred and Josephine Lynch Utter. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius Academy. On October 16, 1945 he married Lorraine Parker in Washington, DC. She died September 12, 2002. Joe worked at Revere Copper Products, Inc., for over 40 years, retiring in 1986. He also served in the US Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Utter was a member of St. Leo's Church in Holland Patent. Joe is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Chris Hansen, of Rome; seven sons and four daughters-in-law, Richard Utter, of Phoenix, AZ, Donald and Mary Ellen Utter, of Rome, Lawrence Utter, of Henderson, NY, Timothy and Barrie Utter, of Taberg, Kevin Utter, of Utica, Keith and Dotti Utter, of New Harmony, Utah, and Bruce and Kalyne Utter, of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Les Utter, of Fort Myers, FL, and John and Van Utter, of Mesa AZ; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe was predeceased by three sisters, Helen and Marion Utter, and Catherine Denty, and two brothers, William and James Utter. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:45 A.M. at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, and 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter's Church. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7pm. Contributions in be made to the American Heart Association or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
