Joseph F. Benedict
Joseph F. "Joe" Benedict, 64, 8377 Dixon Rd., Camden, passed away October 26, 2005 in Rome Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born June 16, 1941 in Syracuse, the son of Lester S. and Leona Pare Benedict. Joe was educated in Chittenango Schools and on November 26, 1959 he was united in marriage to Nancy A. Bacola in Bridgeport. Joe was last employed at Crouse-Hinds in Syracuse for 25 years retiring in 1986. Joe was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and most of all riding on his 4-wheeler.
Surviving besides his wife, Nancy, are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph W. Benedict and girl friend Laurie Dunlop, Sylvan Beach, Jeffrey M. and Lorraine Benedict, Lee Center, two daughters and sons-in-law, Lee A. and Wayne Towne, Rome, Diane and Patrick Rooney, Blossvale, two sisters, Anne Bradshaw, Bridgeport, Barbara Burke, Eastwood, NY, 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe's family would like to thank the staff in the I.C.U. at Rome Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care they gave Joe during this difficult time.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 12-3pm at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 St. Rte. 13, Camden. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3 pm from the funeral home. Burial will take place in McConnellsville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
