Name: Raymond J. Brooks Date of Death: Thursday, October 20, 2005 Residence: 802 W. Thomas St., Rome Age: 94 Obituary: Raymond J. "Ray" Brooks Raymond J. "Ray" Brooks, 94, of 802 W. Thomas Street, Rome, New York, a former resident of Sylvan Beach died Thursday, October 20, 2005 in Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility after an illness of one year. He was born January 31, 1911 in Malone, New York the son of Joseph and Adeline Spinner Brooks. Mr. Brooks was educated in Malone. On April 14, 1962 he married Elsie L. Streiff in Floyd. She died March 4, 1991. Ray was employed at Rome Cable Corporation for thirty-five years retiring in 1976. Surviving are two daughters, Norma Redmond, Oneida; Sharon Occhipinti, Florida; one son Allan Brooks, Oneida; two sisters, Beatrice Warner, Malone; Shirley Hayward, Massena; one brother, William Brooks, Arizona; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and two step-daughters, Josephine and Bertha. He was predeceased by two sons, Max, Raymond, Jr. and one sister, Rita Williams. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome Monday 1:00P.M. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 11:00A.M. to 1:00P.M. Contributions may be made in Ray's memory to the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility Patients Fund. Services: Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 pm from the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., Rome Calling hrs. are Monday 11 am - 1 pm. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery
