Allen, 62, formerly of Colonial One Apartments, Rome, New York, died Friday, October 21, 2005 at Stonehedge Nursing Home where she was a resident for the last year and a half. She was born July 15, 1943 in Malone the daughter of George and Leona Russell Gauthier. Mrs. Allen was educated in Rome. In 1961 she married William J. Allen, Sr. in Rome. She was a member of St. Peter's Church and was a former member of the Rome Police Auxiliary. Survived by her loving family who will miss her greatly, are one son and daughter-in-law, William J. and Roberta Allen, Rome; six sister and brothers-in-law, Geraldine Hickman, Morgantown, West Virginia; Grace Sweet , Gloria Hancock, Gail and Carlos Monet and Georgianna Lubner, all of Rome; Greta and Mark Johnson, Syracuse; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Gilbert Gauthier and Guy Gauthier,both of Rome; George and Kathleen Gauthier, Jr., Snowflake, Arizona; three grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a brother-in-law, William Schrieck, Texas. She was predeceased by a sister, Gene Schrieck, who died in 2003. Gladys family would like to extend a special thank you to the Nurses and Aides on Wing 1 at Stonehedge Nursing Home for their compassion and care shown to her during her stay. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street Monday 10:00A.M.. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery, Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Sunday. Contributions may be made in Gladys memory to Stonehedge Nursing Home Activities Fund. Services: Funeral services will be Monday at 10 am from the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., Rome
