Name: John Dublanica Date of Death: Sunday, October 16, 2005 Residence: Rome NY Age: 91 Obituary:John Dublanica, 91, of Rome died Sunday, October 16, 2005 in Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born April 17, 1914 in Ludlow, PA, the son of Peter and Anastasia Seamen Dublanica. He was educated in Rome schools. On July 27, 1940 he married Kathryn Lopuszynski. She died March 3, 1978. John worked at Rome Iron Mills for over 60 years, retiring in 1997. He also worked at Revere Copper and Brass for over 40 years. Mr. Dublanica is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Maryann and John Mazzaferro, Rome, and Kathleen and Peter Swidzinski, Alamo, CA; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Kathy, Simsbury, CT; a sister, Mary Andrews, Rome; a brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Naomi, Birdsboro, PA; six grandchildren, Lora Mazzaferro, Peter Dublanica, Gregory Dublanica, Michael Dublanica, Paul Swidzinski, and John Swidzinski; and three great-grandchildren, Katerina, Avery, and Bella Rose. He was predeceased by a brother, Michael. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Wednesday at 1:30pm. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7-9pm. Contributions in John's memory maybe made to the Oriskany High School Scholarship Fund.
