Name: Edward E. Marks, Jr. Date of Death: Friday, October 14, 2005 Residence: Rome NY Age: 75 Obituary:Edward E. (Ed) Marks, Jr., 75, of Rome, died Friday, October 14, 2005 in St. Elizabeth's Hospital. He was born December 5, 1929, in Schenectady, the son of Edward and Grace Sheldon Marks. He was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School in Schenectady, and Hope College in Holland, MI. He later earned a degree in Engineering from Lafayette College. On September 5, 1953 he married Jean Barber in Knox, NY. Ed worked as an engineer for RADC for over 25 years, retiring in 1990. He is a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Marks was an avid outdoorsman, hiker and mountain climber. He was a member of the Adirondack Mountain Club, the 46ers Club, the Catskill 35 Mountain Club, and the Tramp and Trail Club of Utica. Ed also loved to fish, hunt and square dance. He is survived by is wife and three children. Daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Titu Ahmed, North Smithfield, RI; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Glen and Victoria, Montoursville, PA, and Gary and his partner, Neal Barnhill, Jacksonville, FL; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Harry Chrysler, Schenectady; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marian, Sherburne; and five grandchildren, Tegan, Scott, Todd, Tiana, and Matthew. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Wednesday at 3pm. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-3pm. Contributions in Ed's memory may be made to the Rome Humane Society. Services: Calling hours Wed. 1-3pm Funeral 3pm at the funeral home
