Narolis Date of Death: Wednesday, April 04, 2007 Residence: Taberg NY Age: 81 Obituary:Virginia Narolis, 81, of Taberg, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 with her loving family by her side. Virginia was a member of the St. Patrick's Altar and Rosary Society, a 60-year member and Gold Star Mother of Meeker O'Rourke Post 1309 American Legion Auxiliary. She loved attending concerts, bowling, fishing, playing Pitch (she always held the Aces), traveling with her daughter Anita, feeding her birds (especially the Cardinals), going on shopping sprees and lunch dates with her special sister-in-law Mary Cook, and enjoying over forty summers at her Oneida Lake Camp. Virginia is most remembered for the love and devotion she had for her family and friends. She loved babysitting her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren; was the head of the table at Morning Coffee Club; and always made sure everyone had a full belly at Sunday Breakfast. Virginia was the daughter of James & Ella Cook. She was born January 20,1926 in Rome, N.Y. Virginia was a graduate of Camden High School. On September 6, 1947 she married Andrew J. Narolis at St. Patrick's Church in Taberg. Virginia leaves behind her husband of 59 years; three children and their spouses, Lawrence & Sue Narolis of North Carolina, Julie & Whitney L. Cook of Taberg, Anita Narolis & Richard Kesler of Taberg; seven grandchildren, Kim & John Hunter, Kevin Narolis, Tara Cook & Bruce Meyers, Whitney J. Cook, Tracy & Todd Willson, Jacob Kesler, and Jessica & Tim Phillips; twelve great-grandchildren, James, Jack, Kerry, Whitney A., Katlin, Timothy, Allison, Andrew, Baby Todd, Kyle, Kory, and Madison; a brother and sister-in-law, Maynard & Marge Cook of Taberg; and several "grand-doggies", especially her little companion "Miss Minnie". Virginia was predeceased by a son, Terry J. Narolis; two brothers, Earl Cook and Robert Cook; and a sister, (Ella) Arlene Cook. The family would like to thank Dr. Cotronea, the staff of Rome Hospital 4th Floor Rehab, and 2nd Floor Critical Care for expediting Virginia's wishes to be at home with her family. Special thanks also to Hospice for their compassion and support to both Virginia and her family. To all family and friends who made her last days at home very special, we thank you, and hope you realize how important each visit truly was. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:15am at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden, and St. Patrick's Church in Taberg at 10am. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-9pm The annual Camden Alumni banquet was something Virginia always looked forward to, enjoyed, and supported. In her memory, donations can be made to the Camden Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 53, Taberg NY 13471, Attn: Tara Cook (Scholarship Chairperson). Services: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:15am at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden, and St. Patrick's Church in Taberg at 10am. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-9pm
