Obituary:Cyril P. (Peter) Hughes, 73, of Sylvan Beach, and formerly of Boonville, died March 27, 2007, at his residence after a long illness. He was born April 4, 1933, in Buffalo, the son of Cyril and Julia Walsh Hughes. He was a graduate of Buffalo schools. On August 3, 1968, he married Deanna Derwin in Flint, MI.
Peter worked at Marcy Psychiatric for several years.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force and served in the Korean War.
Peter was a member of the Boonville American Legion, VFW, and Knights of Columbus.
Surviving besides his wife are, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Heather and Tom Mocerine, Glenmont, NY, Hilary and Marty Lehn, White Rock, British Columbia, CA, and Holly Hughes, Portland, ME; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Perry and Lori, Rotterdam, Colin and Brooke, Rensselaer, and Sean, Remsen; a sister, June McGrath, Buffalo; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Burke, Buffalo, Gary, Gowanda, NY, and David and Virginia, Dunkirk, NY; six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joey, and Brian Mocerine, Julia Hughes, Audrey Lehn, and Abigail Hughes; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 4pm at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden. Interment will take place in Saratoga National Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-4pm. Contributions in Peter's memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., of New Hartford, or the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth St., Santa Monica, CA 90401.
