Catello, Jr., 80, of 959 Floyd Ave., died August 15, 2005 at Rome Memorial Hospital with his wife and family by his side. He had a long courageous battle with cancer. Paul was born March 22, 1925 in Rome, the son of Mabel and Paul Catello, Sr. Paul was united in marriage to Linda Gardner on November 10, 1984. He enjoyed life immensely. Paul was an avid golfer and fisherman, and a member of the Lee Center Legion. Paul served in the US Army in the European Theatre during World War II. He worked for C.D. Construction of Troy for eighteen years, building bridges. He then worked for the Rome Developmental Center, retiring in 1987, after 20 years. Paul also retired from a part time job at Rome Office Equipment. Surviving besides his wife, Linda, are his children from a former marriage, three daughters; Debbie and Ellis Boyles, Clockville, Judy and Gregg Griffo, Rome, and Anita and Richard Hill, Verona; six sons, Paul and Janet, Eugene and Debbie, all of Oneida, Joe and Julie, Tim and girlfriend Lisa, Jeff and Cindy, all of Rome, and Dale and Theresa, Sylvan Beach. Also surviving is a stepson, Lance and Gina Gardner, Manlius; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five sisters, Margaret Mull, Dorothy and Eugene DePasquale, Crystal and Ted Dombrowski, Palmera and Bill Riolo, all of Rome; Felicia and Bill Montross, Verona, one brother, Donald, Oriskany; and a special Little Buddy, Michelle. He was predeceased by a son Richard and a brother Ernest. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome Thursday 8:00P.M. Interment Rome Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services: Calling hours 6-8pm Thurs. Funeral 8pm Thurs. at the funeral home
