Obituary of Teddy Sapieszko

Name: Teddy Sapieszko Date of Death: Tuesday, August 16, 2005 Residence: Rome NY Age: 85 Obituary:Teddy Sapieszko, 85, of 312 Oakwood Street, Rome, New York, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005 in the Rome Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility. He was born December 2, 1919 in Rome the son of John and Laura Madej Sapieszko. Teddy was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On February 23, 1946 he married Genevieve Hamelik in New York Mills. Mr. Sapieszko was employed at Revere Copper and Brass for over thirty years retiring in 1981. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Sapieszko was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church, New York Mills and the Ava Dorfman Senior Center. Surviving besides his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Dee Sapieszko, Baldwinsville; Ronald and Ann Sapieszko, St. Paul, Minnesota and two grandchildren, Brett and Lisa. Teddy's family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Rome Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility and the Rome Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion shown to him during his long illness. A mass of the Christian Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church Friday 10:00A.M. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Hartford.
