Name: Lyle V. Hewitt Date of Death: Tuesday, July 26, 2005 Residence: Rome NY Age: 83 Obituary:Lyle V. Hewitt, 83, of 6284 Lorena Road, Rome, New York, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born December 28, 1921 in Rome the son of George and Lena Day Hewitt. Mr. Hewitt was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On August 11, 1942 he married Evelyn Trinker in Zion Episcopal Church, Rome. She died April 23, 1998. Lyle was employed by the New York Telephone Company for forty years retiring in 1985. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II in the European Theatre. Mr. Hewitt was a member of the Zion Episcopal Church and the Masonic Baron Steuben Lodge, Lee Center. Surviving are three sons, Dale and Morrene Hewitt, Staunton, Virginia; Ron and Michelle Hewitt, Camden, and Douglas Hewitt and Amy Hall, Rome; one sister, Virginia Brower, Ava; and six grandchildren, Christopher, Shawn, Rene', David, Amber and Amanda. He was predeceased by four sisters, Doris Semo, Vera Brower, Sara Hewitt and Georgianna Hewitt, and three brothers, Hollis, Sonny and Charles. Funeral services will be held at the Zion Episcopal Church on Friday at 10:00am. Friends may call at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome, on Thursday form 5-8pm. Contributions may be made in Lyle's memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. Services: Calling hours Thurs. 5-8pm Funeral service Fri. 10am at Zion Episcopal Church
